The Machine-learning Assisted Influenza Vaccine Strain Selection framework (MAIVeSS) is an interactive online tool that seamlessly predicts antigenic properties and growth yields for influenza A viruses using viral genomic sequences. MAIVeSS employs 2D or 3D antigenic cartography to visualize antigenic distances among the tested influenza viruses and a 2D Cartesian coordinate system to display growth conditions (TCID50/mL) in eggs or cells. The current version is specifically designed for 2009 H1N1 viruses.

MAIVeSS was developed using sparse learning algorithms to identify specific sequence features in HA1 proteins associated with influenza antigenicity and growth yield in cells and eggs. Predictive models were subsequently developed based on these phenotypic features.
