I obtained a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology from Autonomous University of Madrid in 2020. My graduate study was to assess the risks of HSV-1 in neurodegenerative diseases, and focused on two areas: 1) the assessment of different antiviral drugs against HSV-1 in neural cells and 2) endocytosis as HSV-1 entry pathway in the same cells. My current research focuses on influenza host and cell tropism, such as viral entry and cell-to-cell transmission, and on influenza vaccine strain selection.
